Serve Fortnum's honey and violet gin over ice with tonic and a lemon wedge to watch its natural purple hue turn pink. This handcrafted spirit is distilled in Edinburgh with nine wild British botanicals and honey and violets from Fortnum's Piccadilly rooftop gardens.
Handcrafted at the Old Curiosity Distillery in Edinburgh, this exclusive tipple is made from nine wild, indigenous British botanicals and Fortnum's honey and violet flowers. In this one-of-a-kind spirit, a gin base is infused with the honey and violets grown in our very own Piccadilly rooftop hives and gardens. It is then blended with nine hand-picked botanicals and cultivated at the distillery's Secret Herb Garden - a completely natural gin garden in the Scottish countryside where the plants are harvested in cycle with the moon.
On the palate there is a subtle sweetness, balanced by savoury herbaceous notes and bright juniper, whilst roots of wood aven add a warming spice. As for its vibrant appearance - that's a natural blush from violet petals. Serve long with tonic over ice, garnish with a fresh lemon wedge and enjoy alongside Fortnum's Organic Smoked Salmon.
The vibrant hues of this gin are derived from petals abundant in natural anthocyanins, known for creating the blue, violet, and red pigments we see in the natural world. The magic occurs when you introduce a tonic or another mixer to the gin, altering the pH and transforming the anthocyanin from purple to pink! Pour yourself a gin and tonic and marvel at the magic of nature.
Made using completely natural processes - free from artificial colourings, additives and flavour compounds.
