Regional information
Famille Perrin Gigondas comes from the southern Rhône, a sun-drenched region known for its rugged hills and limestone soils. Vineyards benefit from a warm, Mediterranean climate with cooling Mistral winds, which preserve freshness and concentration in the grapes. This combination of altitude, soil, and climate produces powerful yet elegant wines, with rich fruit, structured tannins, and the balance and depth that reflect the character of Gigondas.
Vinification
Grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness, with whole bunches carefully used in vats. After a brief maceration, fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. Gentle extraction is achieved through light punch downs. Once pressed in a vertical press, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak foudres, developing complexity, depth, and a refined, elegant character.
