History: Through decades of study and exploration within Mendoza's high altitude mountain terroirs, the Catena family has identified special locations for its Estate vineyards. From the marriage of these historic vineyards emerges a wine of unique character that has natural balance, concentration and distinct varietal identity.
Regional information: The DV Catena Malbec is a special blend from Catena's High Mountain Estate Vineyards in Mendoza. The Malbec grapes from this variety of vineyards produces enormous complexity and depth in the final wine. Mendoza itself is globally renowned for Malbec and the Catena family have played an integral part in growing the reputation of this region and grape.
Vinification: This wine goes through an extensive cold maceration for 5 days to extract maximum aromas. The juice is then fermented using wild yeasts and then matured for 12-14 months in first, second and third use oak barrels to give extra depth and complexity.
