Why supplement with collagen?
The protein is an essential component of all tendons, ligaments and muscles, collagen is also a major constituent in the make up of your skin and bones.
Though this structural protein is naturally produced in the body, production naturally slows significantly as we get older, resulting in thinning hair, brittle nails and a loss of skin elasticity.
But it is not just age that can cause a decrease in our collagen levels. Eating a diet low in natural collagen (it is usually found in meat, fish and dairy) can mean that you do not quite get enough.
