Domaine Heresztyn Gevrey Chambertin 1ER CRU Les Champonets 2021 is a fine organic Burgundy red wine from a family estate in conversion to biodynamic practices. This Pinot Noir offers approachable fruit with red-berry compote and spice, perfect for pairing with beef or game dishes.
Florence Heresztyn and her husband Simon Mazzini took over the estate from Florence's parents and uncle with the 2012 vintage and have made great progress since then. This is a fine estate in a famous village. Florence's grandfather arrived from Poland in the 1930s, and gradually built up the estate. Florence and Simon are in conversion to organic and biodynamic viticulture, with the 2019 their first vintage producing Ecocert-certified organic wines.
Tasting Notes: Open and inviting, this wine offers a beautiful approachability and fruitiness. A firm and concentrated style, attractive notes of red-berry compote and deep blackberry sit alongside dark, mineral undertones and sweeter tones of cinnamon spice.
