Shelf life and storage: Up to 5 days shelf life. If the cake is not being eaten straight away, we advise refrigerating the cake in an airtight container to keep it cool and fresh. Before serving, remove the cake from the fridge and allow it to return to room temperature. This will take approximately 3-4 hours, depending on the temperature of your room. As soon as the buttercream has a soft whipped double cream like texture, you know the cake is ready to eat! If you don't allow the cake to return to room temperature the sponge and buttercream will be hard and the flavour may be dulled.
