History
Cockburn's, founded in 1815 by two Scottish brothers Robert and John Cockburn, is one of the greatest and most beloved names in Port. With a long history of questioning the 'rules', Cockburn's was a pioneer in producing Port from the remote Douro Superior and was instrumental in recovering the iconic Port grape variety Touriga Nacional from almost certain extinction. The Cockburn's style reflects the special hot and dry climatic conditions of this Douro Sub-region giving a unique style and quality to all Cockburn's Ports.
