History
French wine traces its history to the 6th century BC, with many of France's regions dating their wine-making history to Roman times. The wines produced today range from expensive high-end wines sold internationally, to more modest wines usually only seen within France.

Regional Information
Appellation d'Origine Protegee, the French term which translates to Protected Designation of Origin in English. The name of the region Entre-Deux-Mers is derived from "maree" ("tide"). Thus, it means "between two tides", a reference to its location between two tidal rivers.

Vinification Details
This red wine expresses the typical qualities of Entre-Deux-Mers, a wine region in Bordeaux. It is situated between the rivers Garonne and Dordogne, and is bounded in the east by the border of the Gironde department and in the west by the Bec d'Ambes, the confluence of the Garonne and the Dordogne. The total area under vine is about 1,500 hectares (3,700 acres).
