Château La Tour Blanche overlooks Bommes, a charming small village in Gironde France, situated at about 40 kilometres south of Bordeaux. This estate spreads over 70 hectares in the heart of the renowned Sauternes Appellation.
Using the three white Sauternes grape varieties; Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle this wine is the result of a severe selection. Each vintage is vinified and aged for 16 to 18 months according to the estate’s own recipe in French-oak barrels, which are entirely, renewed every harvest.
Tasting Notes:
Serve chilled but not iced (Between 10°C and 12°C)
Nose of citrus, exotic fruit and grilled bread.
After pouring, it shows aromas of dried apricots and hints of minty freshness as well as guava and pineapple.
The mouth is ample, sweet and fruity with a nice balance between alcohol sugar and acidity. The palate is wrapped in freshness and brings out the fresh and candied fruit with a final which is slightly vanilla.
The Sémillon gives this vintage very dense aroma of exotic fruit, fresh fruit and even a little blackcurrant.
Pairing:
Will pair well with rich pate, refined fishes and seafood in a creamy sauce. A perfect match for white meat or exotic dishes with fruits and mild spices, strong cheeses such as Roquefort or even fruity desserts.
