Château Haut-Brion is reputed for producing uniquely exquisite wines thanks to its gravelly, elevated terrain in the Pessac-Léognan appellation to the north of the Graves wine-growing region. The Haut-Brion 2011 exhibits a nose of subtle smouldering embers, warm rocks, blackcurrants, leather and unsmoked cigar tobacco, yet despite this rich and powerful aspect, it’s surprisingly light on the palate.
