In 1552 and in the heart of Margaux, Château Giscours founder, Pierre de Lhomme, began planting the first vines where the Château went on to be recognised as a Third Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Giscours' 40 hectares of vines are located on deep gravel hilltops where the sun rays build the optimum ripening conditions. This wine is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% merlot. Ageing took place for 17 months in French oak barrels (50% new)
