24.2MP full-frame sensor A 24.2 megapixel sensor delivers an ideal balance of speed, image quality and low-light performance. The ability to focus in conditions as dark as -6.5EV (less than the light of a half-moon) is complemented by a maximum ISO 102,400 sensitivity, and an Image Stabilizer that's effective up to 8 stops.

Deep-learning AI autofocus Canon's next-gen deep-learning AI autofocus delivers even more powerful results (it's 80% faster than the original R6). The Mark II recognises and tracks more subjects with greater speed, reliability and precision. Securely lock on and track people's faces, eyes, and heads. For animal photography it recognises cats, dogs, horses, and birds in flight, plus, tracking vehicles like cars, motorbikes, trains and aircraft, it locks onto fast-moving subjects wherever they are in the frame.

4K or 6K movies Shoot full-width oversampled 4K video at 60p for superb footage. Intuitive features such as intelligent autofocus and a powerful image stabiliser make pro-style results available to everyone. And for maximum image quality and flexibility, you can shoot ProRes RAW video in 6K resolution using an Atomos V+ external recorder (sold separately). Footage is easier to grade, with more dynamic range. That extra level of resolution lets you crop your image while still retaining 4K quality.

RF Lens Mount Its pioneering lens mount places the high performance optics of Canon's RF range of lenses at optimum distance from a full-frame sensor for a step forward in creative photography. It can be used with existing EF-S (with a cropped area) and EF lenses with no loss of performance, when attached to the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R (not included).
