Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva is a rich and well-balanced Spanish red wine from the Rioja region. It offers deep flavours of ripe black cherry and plum, with notes of vanilla, toast and gentle spice developed through extended ageing in oak barrels. This Reserva is aged for three years before release, creating a smooth, full-flavoured red wine with soft tannins and a long, rounded finish. It won Silver in The Drinks Business Global Masters Rioja 2020.
Appearance: Garnet. Aroma: Great balance between the fruit (cherry, black plum, ripe blackberries) and the clean nuances imparted by the wood during aging (clove, pepper, vanilla, and coconut), enriched by the complex aromas developed during bottle aging. Palate: Very appealing on the palate, where notes of ripe fruit, spices, tobacco, and toasted oak are perceived. Elegant and smooth tannins, with a medium body and a long, complex finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with grilled meats and blue cheese.
