About this product

CALPOL® Sugar Free Infant Suspension 100ml is a strawberry flavoured syrup that provides soothing relief from fever (raised temperature), post-immunisation fever, cold & flu symptoms, teething, headache, sore throat, earache, and other aches and pains. It contains paracetamol, the only pain and fever relief gentle enough for babies after their first immunisation at 2 months. It gets to work on fever in 15 minutes, while being delicate on the tummy. CALPOL®Sugar Free Infant Suspension for infants 2 months + (weighing over 4kg & not premature). Contains paracetamol. For pain and fever. Always read the label.

Ingredients

• Active Ingredients: Paracetamol 120mg in each 5ml
• Other Ingredients: Contains Maltitol liquid, Sorbitol solution (70% non crystallising) (E420), Glycerol, Microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium, Xanthan gum, Ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214), Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), Propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Polysorbate 80, Strawberry flavour (containing propylene glycol (E1520) and benzyl alcohol), Carmoisine (E122), Purified water

Preparation and usage

This product is intended for use in children aged 2 months to 6 years. For oral use only. Do not give more medicine than the label tells you to. If your child does not get better, talk to your doctor. Shake the bottle for at least 10 seconds before use.

• Children aged 2-3 months: Give 2.5 ml. If necessary, after 4-6 hours, give a second 2.5 ml dose.
• Children aged 3-6 months old: 2.5 ml up to 4 times
• 6-24 months old: 5ml up to 4 times
• 2-4 years old: 7.5 ml (5 ml + 2.5 ml) up to 4 times
• 4-6 years old: Give 10 ml (5 ml + 5 ml) up to 4 times

Do not give to babies less than 2 months old. Only give if your baby weighs over 4 kg and was born after 37 weeks. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not give more than 2 doses. If your child is still feverish after two doses, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Do not give more than 4 doses in any 24 hour period. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not give this medicine to your child for more than 3 days without speaking to your doctor or pharmacist.

Safety information

Please see leaflet. CONTAINS PARACETAMOL Do not give anything else containing paracetamol while giving this medicine. Talk to a doctor at once if your child takes too much of this medicine, even if they seem well. As with all medicines, if your child is currently taking any other medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. It is important to shake the bottle for at least 10 seconds before use. Always use the syringe supplied with the pack. Do not give more medicine than the label tells you to. If your child does not get better, talk to your doctor. Do not store above 25C. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
