

Buttercup Cough Syrup is a traditional herbal medicinal product providing non-drowsy relief for coughs, colds, and sore throats. Based on traditional use, it contains squill liquid extract and capsicum tincture. Adults and children over 12 can take two 5ml spoonfuls three times daily, plus at bedtime if needed.

Directions for useThis medicine contains: 3.6 g sucrose, 2.6 g glucose, and 2.6 g fructose in each dose (10 ml). This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus. If your doctor has told you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars, or if you have been diagnosed with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) a rare genetic disorder in which a person cannot break down fructose talk to your doctor before you (or your child) take or receive this medicine. It may also be harmful to the teeth.
Carmoisine (E122), Sunset Yellow (E110), sodium methyl hydroxybenzoate (E219) and sodium propyl hydroxybenzoate (E217), which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed), e.g. itching, swelling of the tongue, lips, eyes, and hands, and wheeziness. If this happens, seek medical help immediately.
4.6% v/v ethanol (alcohol) or 198 mg per 10 ml dose, equivalent to 5 ml beer or 2 ml wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects if taken as recommended. This may be harmful for those suffering from alcoholism and should be considered if you have liver disease or epilepsy.
