Brand details
Buffalo Trace takes its name from the ancient buffalo paths that led America's earliest pioneers west, one of which runs right through the distillery site in Frankfort, Kentucky. For over 200 years, the Buffalo Trace Distillery has been defined by a dedication to one craft: making fine bourbon whiskey.
History
Records indicate distilling started on the site of Buffalo Trace Distillery in 1775. The first distillery was constructed in 1812 by Harrison Blanton. In 1870, Edmund H. Taylor Jr. purchased the distillery and named it the Old Fire Copper (O.F.C.) Distillery. It was later sold to George T. Stagg, and renamed Buffalo Trace Distillery in 1999. It is the oldest continually operating distillery in America, crafting bourbon on the same Kentucky grounds for over 200 years.

Vinification details
Made from a mash of corn, rye and malted barley, the spirit is distilled and then aged for years in new charred American white oak barrels on the middle floors of the distillery's century-old warehouses, where temperature fluctuation is greatest, helping to develop the bourbon's complex flavour.
