Founded in 1811 on the island of Madeira by John Ernest Blandy, the Blandy name has become synonymous with quality Madeira wine. For over two centuries and seven generations the Blandy family have played a leading role in the development of one of the world's greatest and most unique wines. Today members of the family continue to live and work on the island.
This is a medium-rich style of Madeira made from the Bual grape variety. It has been aged for 15 years in small oak casks at Blandy's Wine Lodges in the centre of Funchal. This extended ageing gives the wine a profound complexity and velvety smoothness.
Bual is famous for flavours of fig, prune and a luxuriously long finish of hazelnuts and almonds.
