Ableforth's Sloe Gin is crafted using a superabundance of the very finest sloes (almost half a pound of which are used in the production of each and every bottle), with the addition of juniper, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and the very best orange peel. Produced entirely by hand, the finest copper-pot-still spirit has been applied to the aforementioned botanicals and fruit before being bottled for your drinking pleasure. Ableforth's Sloe Gin has the perfect balance of sweetness, tannic grip, and aromatic richness. Whilst drinking this most exceptional of sloe gins neat (or with ice) is an extremely rewarding experience, we would suggest that it is at its best when used in mixed drinks. Tonic water and sloe gin are the greatest of friends - giving rise to a richness and aromatic deliciousness hitherto unknown. We also highly recommend mixing up a Martinez cocktail, substituting this sloe gin for the more traditionally used maraschino.

History

Back in 2011, Professor Cornelius Ampleforth fulfilled a lifelong ambition when he released his extraordinary Bathtub Gin. Not content with this highly successful experiment, he proceeded to lock himself back inside his laboratory and set about on all manner of additional, exciting projects! The result was an entire range of original and reimagined spirits inspired by by-gone eras and modern technology alike! Whether it's cold-compounding or distillation under vacuum, the madcap professor does whatever it takes to produce the finest libations and retain the freshness of the wonderful botanicals he uses.
