Produced in the Puglia region of Southern Italy, this red wine is made exclusively from 100% Negroamaro grapes. The viticulture involves a traditional appassimento method where berries are late-harvested and allowed to dry naturally on the vine before pressing, resulting in a concentrated flavour profile.
The wine presents a deep colour with aromas of blackberries, ripe plums, and prunes, complemented by subtle notes of medicinal herbs and liquorice. On the palate, it offers a rich texture supported by a consistent line of acidity and plentiful smooth tannins. The finish is long and sweet with a characteristic drying bitter note. It is well-suited for pairing with robust dishes such as pasta in rich sauces, stews, and grilled or barbecued meats.
