Supercooled These potatoes are showered with cold water to cool them down rapidly after harvesting. The famous Jersey Royal is grown by our committed group of island farmers, many of whom are fourth or fifth generation. Traditionally each Jersey Royal is planted by hand, with many from the steep south facing slopes being harvested by hand too.
A number of sandy fields still have seaweed (Vraic) spread on them to add nutrients to the soil and add to the flavour of the delicious Jersey Royal. This unique potato can only come from Jersey. It has a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) awarded in 1997. Features include: Rapidly cooled to keep fresh, Perfect for boiling & steaming, Home grown.
