Since 1620 our family tradition as always been about making the finest quality wines. History: In 1815, German trader Dietrich Matthias Feuerheerd founded the company, by the same name, in Oporto. There he selected and aged the finest blends before shipping them to Northern Europe. The brand was acquired by Barão de Vilar, giving birth to a new partnership between the Van Zellars and the Barros family, who were determined to revive the long tradition of quality Feuerheerd wines.
Regional information: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz grapes are harvested from vineyards in the Douro, in the north of Portugal.
Vinification: The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and matured for 12 months in old oak casks, once used for the maturation of Port which imparts spicy aromas.
