Codornu produced the first-ever bottle of Cava in 1872 and is today Spain's longest-standing producer of wine and cava, maintaining its leading position in the production of quality wines and cavas.

In order to make Cuve Barcelona 1872 Ros, every year we select the choicest traditional red varietals located in the Mediterranean climatic zone of the DO Cava (north-east Spain). Based near Barcelona in Spain, Codornu have now completed over 460 harvests and have the largest number of privately owned vineyards in Europe. Proudly Catalonian, this vineyard ownership and historical experience delivers wines of top quality, from the sourcing and management of grapes in their own vineyards and pressing centres, to the crisp and refreshing sparkling wine in your glass.
Vinification Details
This sparkling wine is made through the traditional method, in the same way as Champagne. The wines are aged for a minimum of 9 months, where a second fermentation takes places inside each bottle, naturally producing the cavas bubbles. This process gives the wine depth of flavour, elegance and long-lasting, fine bubbles.
