Preparation and Usage
Recipes
Wholemeal Loaf
500g (1 packet)
Carr's strong wholemeal
Premium bread mix
25g butter or
Vegetable fat
350ml warm water
Method for Bread Maker
Add the ingredients to the bread maker pan in the order listed in the bread maker instruction book and then follow the manufacturers' instructions.
We recommend setting your machine to the basic/normal setting, large loaf, medium crust.
Method for Hand Baking
In a bowl, rub the butter into the mix. Gradually add the water and mix until a dough is formed.
Tip out onto an oiled surface and knead the dough for 10-15 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
Place in a bowl and cover, allow to rest for hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
Knock back the dough and shape into round boule.
Place on a baking tray and leave to prove for I hour.
Pre-heat the oven to 230C (fan 210C, gas mark 8). Bake for 25 minutes, then lower the temperature to 200C (fan 180C, gas mark 6) and bake for a further 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack.Package Type
