An exceptional growing season produced fruit in pristine condition. The summer was dry with cooler nights -typical for Marlborough. Yields were at their optimum level and the stable autumn weather allowed Villa Maria to extend the hang time of the fruit on the vines to achieve ripeness.
Tasting Notes:
This wine showcases the youthful, fresh and vibrant characteristics of Marlborough. Initially, the cool climate aromas jump out of the glass, such as lemongrass, jalapeño peppers and fresh herbs. The Sauvignon Blanc also has ripe citrus and tropical fruit flavours.
Pairing Notes:
A perfect aperitif wine, serve chilled on warm summer days. Fresh herbal flavours match well with most salads, whereas the riper tropical flavours match well with many fish recipes.
