Vega Sicilia Unico is a beautiful wine, aged for at least 10 years in both barrel and bottle to maximise the richness that the Duero River’s soils impart to the grapes. The 2011 vintage will age gracefully, developing mature leather and tobacco aromas – though if you’d rather enjoy it now, expect super-fine tannins and a complex palate of strawberry, bramble fruit and herbs.
