The Santos de Cartier watch was first designed by Louis Cartier in 1904 to help Alberto Santos Dumont record time while in the air – something which, at the time, was almost impossible. One of the very first wristwatches ever made, the exquisite timepiece is still just as popular over a century on, with contemporary iterations like the one above carrying its legacy into a new era. This rendition is adorned with more than 200 brilliant-cut diamonds to its steel case, calling to mind the Maison’s captivating jewellery collections.
