Our artisanal winery, built around an 11th century estate near Barcelona, is a little secret we're glad you've discovered. Here we do things our own way. Picking grapes by hand, using only the finest pressings of the grapes, developing our own special yeasts and maturing the wine for just that little bit longer. All to make a sparkling wine you'll want to share.This dry Brut Reserva, aged for fifteen months, has a flavour of white citrus and tropical fruits, with a refreshing bite that makes it perfect for an aperitivo or partner for seafood, pasta and soft cheeses.

Storage

Sparkling wines and Champagne should always be stored in a cool and dry place away from light and heat sources. The ideal temperature for storage is 13-15 degrees C.    

Warning: Sparkling wines contain high natural pressure. Do not allow bottles to get warm. Chill bottle before opening and avoid shaking. Point bottle away from others and yourself when removing wire, hood and cork. Hold the cork firmly and twist out slowly by hand. Never in any circumstances use a corkscrew to open.

History
The Segura Viudas estate has roots dating back to the 11th century. It started as an inhabited watchtower, and was later converted into a Catalan country house in the 13th century, growing all kinds of crops for the local monastery, including wine grapes. In the 1850's it began crafting cavas, becoming the winery that continues to earn its reputation as one of the world's top producers of sparkling wines to this day.

Segura Viudas is located in the Cava region of Spain. The grapes come from a great diversity of vineyards in the region.

Vinification Details
The pressing of whole grapes helps to retain their identity avoid oxidation. The first and second fermentations are carried out using own selected yeast strains. A minimum of 15 months ageing in contact with the lees.
