Country style barley is coarse-grained groats. The barley is produced from hulled barley subjected to cutting, sifting and sorting. The product is low in fat and sugar but high in fibre and phosphorus. It is a source of protein, magnesium, iron and zinc.

Preparation

Preparation: Pour water into the pot, so that the bag is completely submerged. Bring the water to a boil. Put the bag into boiling water. You can add a little salt to water. Cover with a lid and cook for approx. 15 minutes. Depending on preferred consistency of groats, cooking time may be extended or shortened. Take out the bag, rinse in cold water, drain, tear the bag along the perforation and pour groats onto a plate.
