Pinot Gris from the Alsace tends to be a little richer and juicier than its Italian counterpart, with this Domaine Zind Humbrecht edition evidence of just that. Its deep colour hints at what’s to come – a medium body and off-dry palate that make this a surprise at first sip, with far richer flavours and a rounder texture than one might expect. A light sweetness on the nose brings to mind the honey-toned Sauternes, but stone fruits and delicate citrus notes sing with a well balanced minerality.
