History: Domaines Paul Jaboulet was founded in 1834 in the heart of the Tain l'Hermitage village. Crozes Hermitage is one of the cornerstones of Paul Jaboulet Ainé. We are the largest private vineyard owners with 68 hectares planted in this appellation.
Regional information: The Crozes Hermitage Appellation now covers 1700 hectares. It is located mostly on lower terrasses of the Rhône. Many plots are actually on the old riverbed of the Rhône which left sediments and round pebble stones. Crozes Hermitage is often considered the little brother of the prestigious Hermitage Appellation which is nearby. Crozes Hermitage wines are usually softer and more approchable during their youth.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked, carefully sorted and then meticulously vinified using traditional methods. The maceration lasts 3 weeks with daily pump overs. Aged in large oak casks and 2 year old oak barrels for 12 months.
