Tasting Notes
Delicate notes of citrus blossom, honeysuckle and peach mingle with undertones of creme caramel and vanilla. The palate exhibits refined fruit flavours of honey dew, citrus and fig with an enduring, fine, mineral acidity to finish.

History
The 2018 growing season ended with a wet winter, followed by a mild spring that opened 2019 vintage. In Western Australia the summer was atypical, remaining mild throughout. These cooler conditions dictated a later start to the harvest but allowed for a gradual and measured ripening of grapes. The resulting white wines have retained purity and vibrancy, which is always a signature of the slightly cooler years.

Regional Information
This chardonnay is sourced from several Margaret River sub-regions, with the majority of the fruit grown on our Leston vineyard in Wilyabrup.

Vinification Details
The wine is made by applying many winemaking techniques in order to create a complex wine. Grapes are picked in the cool of the early morning to retain freshness. Gentle handling and cool fermentation captures bright varietal notes. Whole bunch pressing of juice directly to French oak for fermentation adds dimension and richness. This combination of methods ensures a wine with intense fruit freshness, subtle toasty oak notes and a fine mineral texture.
