Once a place to rest along the pilgrims' route to Santiago de Compostela, Chateau des Jacques was purchased by Maison Louis Jadot in 1996 and is today a beautiful property including famous vineyards mainly in Moulin-A-Vent, Magon and Fleurie.

History
Louis Henry Denis Jadot founded Maison Louis Jadot in 1859. His son Louis Jean Baptiste, took over the management of the company in 1900, and expanded operations by buying numerous vineyards, including Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles. Pierre-Henry Gagey became president of Maison Louis Jadot in 1992 and has been running the company since then.

Regional Information
Louis Jadot purchased the Chateau des Jacques estate in Moulin à Vent at the end of 1996. The estate is well known as one of the most prestigious in Beaujolais and is made up of 5 different "clos" totalling 20.4 ha, which are now all vinified separately.

Vinification Details
The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed before fermentation and the wine is barrel aged to create a wine with rich and succulent Gamay fruit as well as having the concentration and structure to develop in bottle.
