Lagunilla is one of the oldest and finest names in Rioja. Don Felipe Lagunilla San Martin founded this Bodega in 1885. The quality of the Lagunilla wines and many others owe much to his pioneering work in defeating Phylloxera which hit the region in the 1870's. It was he who recommended the use and introduction of American rootstocks to the Rioja vineyards.Known for its consistent quality and range of wines, Lagunilla is at the forefront of modern wine-making technology whilst at the same time mindful of the tradition and history that has made Rioja one of the classic wine regions of the world.

Vinification Details
After careful fermentation at temperatures not exceeding 28 °C, the wine is kept in vats for period of 12 months. It is then transferred to oak casks for ageing of approx. 24 months, depending on the vintage. After bottling it continues to mature for further 3 years prior to release.
