Franschhoek, a village renowned for its French Huguenot heritage is nestled between towering mountains in the beautiful Cape winelands. Franschhoek Cellar combines the charms of leisurely country life with the elegance of a world class venue. The wine estate was built in 1920 and by 1947 the wine cellar was completed and a group of local farmers starting making wines under the Franschhoek Cellar name. In 2008, a return to private ownership saw Franschhoek Cellar move back to its roots in celebrating its heritage and focusing on creating varietal wines that reflect our unique South African terroir. Franschhoek Cellar offers a distinctive range of single varietal wines under the called the Village Walk, capturing the vibrant character and charm range whilst paying homage to the historical landmarks of the village that help tell the story of this incredible place. The Statue de Femme is a graceful monument built in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the arrival of the French Huguenots in the Cape and stands surrounded by a beautiful rose garden. It displays simplicity and elegance with unmistakable reflections of historic French influences, just like this Sauvignon Blanc. Our wine philosophy is centred around elegance and refinement. |
