The Cloudy Bay vineyards are located in the Marlborough region, at the northern end of New Zealand's South Island. Grown under ideal conditions, the vines produce intensely flavoured fruit with distinctive varietal character.This is a complex, medium bodied wine with savoury flavours and a ripe supple palate.

History
Created in 1985 by David Hohnen, founder of the Cape Mentelle estate in Australia, the Cloudy Bay vineyards extend to the mouth of the eponymous bay in New Zealand The vineyards of Cloudy Bay are located at superior sites throughout the Marlborough region to maximise the considerable diversity that exists in micro-climates and soil types.

Regional Information
Cloudy Bay is named after the bay at the eastern end of the Wairau Valley; the gateway to the Marlborough region. In New Zealand, nearly all wine growing regions are close to the ocean. These coastal locations experience long sunshine hours, sea breezes and cool nights - providing an ideal growing environment and an extended ripening period.

Vinification Details
The harvest of 2014 supplied our best Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir to date. The resultant fruit had all the structural interest of 2010, with an unprecedented freshness and varietal lift: a kaleidoscope of red berry and cherry flavours, true to classic Pinot Noir.
