Baron Philippe de Rothschild commenced their operation within the Languedoc in 1995 to keep pace with the changing tastes of wine drinkers across the globe.Headed by Baroness Philippine, the operation strove to work with local growers to produce wines of great quality and consistency from a then underperforming region of France

Among the different soils and climates of the Pays d'Oc, Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers have selected the Mediterranean terroir.Its climate, warm but tempered by sea breezes, its sandstone croupes and its gravelly plateaux are particularly well-suited to Syrah
