History: South African wine business 'HER Wine Collection' headed up by the talented Praisy Dlamini, is a company run entirely by a passionate team of black wine industry women - from winemakers, & viticulturists to admin and finance.
The Amandla wine range is a bold, unique, and progressive new wine brand, a celebration of the rich history of South Africa, and the collective stories of the team behind it; championing FREEDOM, the POWER within women, Africa, and the exciting opportunity that the FUTURE holds.
Regional information: The Shiraz and Zinfandel grapes are from Wellington and Porterville vineyards in the Western Cape.
Vinification: The Shiraz and Zinfandel grapes are crushed and destemmed separately into stainless steel fermentation tanks. Fermentation is achieved through the addition of cultured yeast strains. Extraction is achieved through aerated pump overs and a total of 2 weeks on the skins. Gentle pressing to tank where French Oak Staves are used on 20% of the juice during Malolactic fermentation to add to the complexity and give a subtle hint of spice. The two wines are blended prior to bottling.
