Using a bread making machine:Machine settings can differ, so we suggest you follow your manufacturer's instructions.Our baking tips:- For the best results, always check your ingredients are at room temperature before you start.- For a rustic look, lightly sprinkle a little flour on top of the loaf before you bake.

Classic White Bred loafFollow the steps below - from there you can try different shapes and add flavours.Allison makes baking bread simple!Ingredients500g Allison strong White Bread Flour1 sachet (7g) Allison Easy Bake Yeast300ml / 1/2 pint hand warm water1 1/2 tsp salt1 tbsp soft butter1 1/2 tsp caster sugarStep 1 - MixMix the flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a big bowl. Using your fingertips rub in the butter until only fine 'crumbs' are left. Mix in the water with a cutlery knife.Step 2 - KneadTop onto a lightly flour dusted surface and knead for 10 minutes (or use the dough hook attachment on your mixer).Step 3 - RiseLightly grease the mixing bowl with some oil. Put the dough back in, cover the bowl with a clean tea towel and leave to rise until doubled in size - about 1 hour depending on how warm your kitchen is.Step 4 - ShapeKnock back the dough by gently kneading just 5 times to get the air out. Mould into a smooth oval and lift into a lightly oiled 900g/5lb loaf tin.Step 5 - ProveCover the dough again with a clean tea towel and leave to prove until doubled in size again. Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas mark 6.Step 6 - BakeLift the tin onto the middle oven shelf and bake for 30-35 minutes, until you can lift the bread loaf from the tin and when you tap the base it sounds hollow. Cool on a wire rack.
