Along with Nuits St Georges, Gevrey Chambertin is perhaps the most famous of the red wine villages in Burgundy such is the sheer volumes of fine wine that come from its vineyards. Poissenots sits at the top of the slope just below the trees overlooking the ‘Combe’ that runs west from the village and is the best area for Gevey Chambertin premier Cru.

Wines from the Poissenot vineyard tend to be well structured, yet lighter and more mineral.  However this is a relatively bold, powerful wine that requires both bottle age and food to be appreciated at its best.
