A crisp, fresh white named after a key green project, the planting of 10,500 Spekboom bushes on the vineyard's open grounds. An incredible native plant, otherwise known as the 'elephant bush', it significantly absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere, far more so than any other plant.

Founded in 1996 by the Gabb family, Journey's End is the most southerly planted vineyard in the Stellenbosch wine region, nestled among the picturesque Schapenberg Hills, beneath which lay 350 million year old decomposed granite soils. As well as fantastic views, the vineyards benefit from the cooling and cleansing south-easterly wind, known locally as the 'Cape Doctor', which comes in from nearby False Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Journey's End focus on expressing this incredible terroir, while preserving the natural environment and wildlife with a sustainable approach to farming and all winemaking activities, as well as being a force for good in the local community.

Integrity & Sustainability Certified

Dietary Information
Allergy Advice: Contains Sulphites

Country of Origin
South Africa

Packaging
Glass Bottle

Attribute

Detail

Alcohol by volume

13%

Alcoholic content

9.8 units

Agent

Bibendum

Grape variety

Sauvignon Blanc

Producer

Journeys End

Type of closure

Screwcap

Storage instructions

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 4 years

History
The Gabb family purchased their first vineyards in South Africa in 1995. Since then, they have always been wholly committed to sustainably and ethically producing excellent wines for all occasions. The vineyards grow on the Schapenberg hills, blessed with 350 million year old decomposed granite soils some of the most prestigious terroir in South Africa, and a unique micro climate.

Regional information
The success of the wine region and its wineries stems from the near-perfection growing conditions that the area experiences as a Coastal Region. With consistently warm temperatures throughout the year, along with a cooling ocean influence, the vineyards have both the heat and breeze to ensure balanced wines. The soil, which can vary significantly from clay to granite and everything in between, also plays a role in how the distinct characteristics that the wines develop.

Vinification
Soil types consist of weathered granite to deep red and well drained soils. All the grapes were given 36 hours extended skin contact before only the free-run juice was transferred to tank for fermentation. The wines were fermented at very low temperatures with a selected yeast strain to highlight the vineyard's specific characteristics. After fermentation the wine was left for a further five months in contact with the lees before carefully prepared for bottling.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0522/0125/9183/files/2365x2365_896b27ef-3b91-4ba8-b1d6-c222bc93ccbd.jpg?v=1784140205
