Mix together in a bowl the contents of the jar and the milk. Season with salt and pepper. Grease an ovenproof dish using butter (18 x 25 x 5.5cm). Peel and thirty slice potatoes. Place half the sliced potatoes into the dish, slightly overlapping. Add half the sauce\/milk mixture to the dish. Add the remainder of the potatoes and top with the rest of the sauce and milk mixture. Bake uncovered in the oven for 1 hour until golden and the potatoes are soft. Remove from oven and top with cheddar cheese. Return to the oven for a further 20 minutes. Check product is piping hot before serving.
